It's so hard to believe that 4 years ago I didn’t use essential oils for my pets and I only used a couple for my skin - now they are a stalwart of my daily life and my pets and we are reaping the benefits.
So here are my top 7 reasons for why I love them so much.
100% NATURAL AND SAFE:
Oils are extracts from plants that have amazing health benefits. Pure oil is about 50-70 times more powerful than herbs. One drop of peppermint essential oil is equivalent to drinking 28 cups of peppermint tea making them very potent. When it comes to pure therapeutic grade Essential Oils, there’s nothing added to the oil or taken away from the oil.

EFFECTIVE
They are often more effective than many modern approaches to health problems and the thing I love about using them with my pets is there is no placebo and you really see a true result. With 6 dogs, a cat and a bunny. I have gained a wealth of personal experience to supplement my knowledge on a whole range of issues - thanks gang lol! From anxious to upset tummies and arthritis to wounds my dogs and cat and bunny have provided me many opportunities to put these to the test.
So essential oils can permeate the cell membrane and address the root cause of health problems.
They can work on a cellular level without side effects or addictions, and they can provide immune support to combat bacteria on the outside of the cell and support the system to prevent the duplication of viruses on the inside.
AFFORDABLE:
With the versatility of essential oils, it is amazing how much money I save putting these little brown bottles to work in my home - many of my dogs are getting old now and needing extra care. Fortunately the multi-purpose nature means that a couple of oils and blends suffice for different needs rather than needing multiple supplements. Especially useful when I am away in my campervan.
When I use them for health concerns I tend to use 1-2 drops and diluting them for my pets is between 2 and 9 drops in a 10ml bottle which lasts so long. So when I break it down by cost per drop I am spending pennies to take care of my pet’s health challenges and I get to use the same stuff for myself too - win win win.
I am also saving money as with this proactive approach with our healthcare now versus a reactive approach. We visit the vet way less which saves me a ton of money as well as time plus for one of my pets where it was a watch and wait as she did not need meds yet for her heart - we are now 4 years post diagnosis with no change and the cardiologist can’t believe it! And top tips - I use old bottles to dilute my oils so they are ready to go for my gang!

Since essential oils come from nature they are much gentler on the planet. Imagine the difference between cleaning a sink with bleach versus baking soda and a few drops of lemon essential oils. Using essential oils is gentler in our ecosystem, water supply, and soil. Not to mention using them around the garden to wash your patio.
