CaniX UK Championships Series 2021/22 2nd Place Extreme Female

This weekend we had a brilliant one competing in the final race in the CaniX UK championships! For both dogs and myself essential oils played a massive role in getting us here!  This finale was a 2 day event on a very very hilly route and with some treacherous switchbacks needing all the technical skills I and my dogs have. Very scary downhills too, I was in 4th place yesterday but with lots of Aromatouch (I love this blend) to boost my muscles and my emotions I dug deep and with a bit more confidence ran a bit faster on the descents! We came away with a lovely third place and not just that but I came away with second place for the 21/22 Series of the CaniX UK championships!

I am so chuffed with this as there have been some ups and downs with the season - not least swapping out dogs and 2 weeks ago a bad back meant I couldn't even move my right leg see my www.thehealthfuldoctor.com/blog for that saga!  Evie competed in half the season but her stemcell treatment meant she had to take time out so I decided to see if Seren would run again in November.

Sadly, a few years ago Seren was attacked in a race that allowed canicross - the owner of the dog did not stop just ran on and his dog went on to attack another further along the route!  I appealed for him to come forward and contacted him but no!  I posted his picture on a group so others could see who it was.  Accidents happen but this guy made no attempt to control his dog or apologise for its behaviour.  Anyway, Seren was not physically hurt but emotionally was and she just didn’t enjoy racing anymore!  With the support of canix and confidence boosting oils we had another go in November with an early start so she could run without the fear of another dog - and she loved it!  These past few months I have seen her improve and in this final race of the series - she was spinning excitedly at the start just how she always used to!  As annoying (lol) as it is to have to untangle lines it was a joy to see!

Rowan the big springer seen in the picture was diagnosed with hip dysplasia just under 2 years ago but I kid you not when I say he is going from strength to strength with the essential oils I have him on. It has been amazing to see! DDR prime being one of these with its antioxidant rich blend of essential oils added to his food along with copaiba, frankincense and turmeric oil.

The dogs always have Aromatouch applied before a race to pep them up emotionally (definitely helping Seren) and physically and get those muscles warmed up!  It is a beautiful blend of oils that really do what they need to do to support the musculoskeletal system whether they are competing in a sport or just going for a walk.

They all really enjoy this oil whether applied to affected joints or added into their massage and will often seek it out even my non massage fan Rowan!  After their race they get this for their cool down massage and a proper massage in the evening.

I would have been lost without these oils, the benefits for our pets are just superb and  I love that there are so many different ways we can utilise them and the results really are fantastic.   But as I always say you've got to use them it's not enough just to use them once a day, sometimes we have to use them layered, we have to dilute, and maybe we have to apply them more often.  I love helping people find what feels good for them and their pets but It is all about making small changes, and the compound effect in helping restore the body back to balance whether that is for you, your dog, your cat or your bunny - Doris bunny came camping too!  That is a subject for another blog!.

My dogs absolutely love taking part in these events - not just the running ones but the others too as it is just a lovely weekend away in my campervan and spending time together with friends.
